IN FLIGHT

2,000 users

SP2016 → SPO, sole engineer

FOUR YEARS IN THE
PLATFORM, NOT THE DECK

- 4 yrs

    Hands-on with SharePoint 2013 / 2016 / SPO

- 2,000

Users on the current live migration

- 50–2,000

User range I take engagements in

- 10+

InfoPath → Power Apps rebuilds shipped

§ 01The difference

## Small is the feature, not the constraint.

Big firms sell you a senior and staff you a junior. Freelancers take whatever walks in. You email me, I answer. Every migration plan, every script, every line of the report is mine.

- The person who scopes the work is the person doing the work.
- Fixed-fee or hour-bank. If my estimate is wrong, that is my problem.
- If I am not the right fit, I say so on the call and refer you on.

§ 02The migration journey

## Five stages. You always know which one you’re in.

Every engagement, every checklist and every post on this site maps to one of these. No mystery phases, no invoices for “discovery” that never ends.

1. § 01 Discover Inventory the estate. Find what is actually in there.

Site, list and library inventory across every web application, plus the customizations nobody documented.

2. § 02 Plan Complexity map, waves, risk register, costed estimate.

What migrates clean, what needs a rebuild, and which wave each site belongs in. Ends with a number you can budget.

3. § 03 Execute Migration runs, exception handling, cutover comms.

Locked source, final delta, waves overnight, and a go/no-go rollback call at the six-hour mark.

4. § 04 Validate Three passes, because day-30 failures are the real ones.

Day 1, day 7, day 30. Permissions, versions, workflows, search index, and the links nobody clicked yet.

5. § 05 Govern Permissions, retention, sharing rules that hold.

Retention labels, external sharing posture, access reviews, and the runbook that keeps them true a year later.

    ### [EWSAllowedAppIDs before October 10: find and test every EWS app](https://tenantcraft.ca/insights/ewsallowedappids-find-test-ews-apps)

On October 10, 2026, turning EWS on stops being enough. Exchange Online will want a list of the exact apps allowed to use it, and any app missing from that list can lose access. Here is how to find every app still calling EWS, build the list without wiping it, and prove it works before the date.

Forty flows in, nobody can tell which one sends the Monday reminder. A team prefix, a solution per department, and a four-line description fix most of it. Moving a flow into a solution is one way, so check before you move.

If your Copilot prompts are retained by an old Teams chats policy, that stops between late October and mid-November 2026. Microsoft will treat those policies as Teams-only. Here is how to tell whether you are affected, and the one policy to add before the rollout reaches you.
